2021 (S) Type 1/Type 2 Silver Eagle NGC MS70 Emergency Production Coins signed by U.S. Mint Directors Edmund C. Moy & David Ryder

In 2021, the United States Mint changed the design of The American Eagle Silver Coin for the first time in thirty-five years! This two-piece set comprises a 2021 Type 1 Silver Eagle with the original Heraldic Eagle design, and a 2021 Type 2 Silver Eagle with the new Eagle Landing design. Both pieces are certified in perfect MS70 condition by NGC and have the important designation “Emergency Production”.

 

To satisfy the high demand for these coins the United States Mint opened a production line at the San Francisco Mint. One million Type 1 and one million Type 2 coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint. These coins are known as “Emergency Production” coins and are the rarest bullion strike coins produced in 2021.

 

This two-piece collection is part of the NGC U.S. Mint Directors Series of top U.S. collectible coins. Certified in perfect MS70 condition, each coin is hand signed by Edmund C. Moy and David Ryder, two of only thirty-seven people to have held the esteemed position of United States Mint Director since its founding in 1872. The Moy/Ryder signatures are the best known in numismatics and are closely associated with the advancement in the American Silver Eagle Series. Facsimile signatures of Edmund C. Moy and David Ryder have appeared on U.S. Mint Certificates of Authenticity since 1994. These are the real authentic hand signed signatures!
